Families who are excited to learn their baby’s gender have two options. DNA gender testing is available from as early as 7 weeks of pregnancy, while gender ultrasound is offered beginning at 14 weeks. Both provide a wonderful opportunity to start planning and celebrating this exciting milestone.

The best time to schedule your ultrasound depends on what you’d like to see. Families interested in early gender determination can visit from 14 weeks onward, while our Belly Bean early pregnancy ultrasound is a popular choice during the first trimester for reassurance and early bonding. For detailed facial images, many families choose to visit between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy, when babies are chubbier with well-developed facial features.  However, every pregnancy is unique, and beautiful images may also be obtained earlier or later, depending on your baby’s position and other factors.

Babies don’t always cooperate during their ultrasound, and that’s completely normal. We take our time and work patiently to obtain the best images possible. If your baby isn’t in an ideal position for facial images during a Full Package session, we’ll arrange a complimentary repeat scan within 2 weeks when a return visit is likely to provide improved views. Likewise, if we’re unable to determine your baby’s gender during a Gender Reveal session, we’ll gladly schedule a complimentary repeat scan within 2 weeks.
